In this workshop, you will learn key concepts, and strategies to diversify your board and create an inclusive culture.

  • Articulate the benefits of enhancing diversity and inclusion.
  • Describe key components of creating an inclusive board culture.
  • Describe strategies for recruiting a diverse board.

Suggested Participants:

Non-profit board members and Executive Directors/CEOs who want to increase diversity and inclusion in their board but are unsure where to start.​

Note: Participants are encouraged to attend this workshop, or an equivalent, before taking any of Vantage Point’s other Board Diversity & Inclusion workshops.

Zahra Esmail

Zahra joined the Vantage Point team as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) in December 2021. She has worked in the non-profit sector for over 15 years with experience in international development, housing and homelessness, community development, youth entrepreneurship, fundraising, and microfinance. She has a master’s in globalization and international development from the University of Ottawa, a bachelor’s in history from UBC, and an associate certificate in fundraising management from BCIT.
