Become a Knowledge Philanthropist

Contribute your expertise and experience with Vantage Point.

Join our Team of Knowledge Philanthropists

Vantage Point’s Knowledge Philanthropists (KPs) are otherwise known as skilled volunteers. All Knowledge Philanthropists are community-based volunteers who join us to contribute their skills to support their quality of life through meaningful engagement in their community. They are an essential part of our organization and generously give their time and expertise to support BC’s non-profit leaders.

With the support of over 140 Knowledge Philanthropists, Vantage Point provides training and consulting on governance, organizational development, strategic planning, human resources, and leadership capacity.

    Who can Join?

Anyone who would like to pass on their expertise and who has an interest in the non-profit sector can connect with us to become a Knowledge Philanthropist!

Vantage Point may also be able to accommodate individuals who are completing community service; for example: interns, and career and personal planning students.

     Volunteer Opportunities

Our primary two Knowledge Philanthropy roles are Facilitators and Digital Hosts. However, we have a multitude of other ways to get involved in our work, in areas such as content development, advisory positions, event hosting, and more.

Don’t see an opportunity for you? Let us know your interests! We’re always looking for new ways to engage our talented KPs.

Fill out our application form or contact our Volunteer Engagement Coordinator at aemery@thevantagepoint.ca to talk about other opportunities.

    Current Volunteer Roles

    Facilitators

Our KP Facilitators are typically professionals in their fields who voluntarily and generously share knowledge with Vantage Point clients as consultants, advisers, professional coaches, and mentors.

Facilitators provide training and facilitation for many of our programs in topic areas such as Strategic Planning, Board Governance, Organizational Assessment, Financial Governance, HR Practices, and Leadership.

    Digital Hosts

Our KP Digital Hosts are individuals who are eager to apply their tech skills – often learned through our training – to our workshops and labs. The Digital Host role is a great way to support our work and take in some great content at the same time!

As a member of the Education & Consulting Team, they offer basic tech support to our staff and facilitators during virtual workshops and custom training sessions that we offer to build capacity in the sector.
