Capacity Building: Collaboration and Non-Profits – A Continuum

Workshop Description

Now, more than ever, to create the impact our communities require, non-profit organizations need to get creative and open themselves to new ways of working together.

In this workshop, you will explore a continuum of ways that non-profits can collaborate, ranging from basic coordination of programs, through sharing of back-end systems, to full integration. Building on the work of Vantage Point’s Non-Profit Collaboration working group, this workshop aims to build openness and understanding of the transformative opportunities along the spectrum of collaboration.

This workshop is ideal for Executive Directors or other senior staff, Board members, and Funders.

Learning Outcomes:

By the end of this session you will be able to:

  • Describe the five types of collaboration on the continuum: communication, cooperation, coordinator, collaboration, and integration.
  • Define mergers and amalgamations.
  • Identify the level of collaboration that fits best for your non-profit organization.
  • Describe key considerations when considering closer collaboration.
