Vantage Point’s Knowledge Philanthropists (KPs) are skilled volunteers who contribute their knowledge and experience through meaningful engagement in their community. They are an essential part of our organization and generously give their time and expertise to support BC’s non-profit sector.
With the support of over 160 Knowledge Philanthropists each year, Vantage Point plays an important role in lifting and amplifying the strengths of this dynamic, resilient, and innovative sector. By identifying the sector’s strengths and challenges through research, and engaging in collaborations and government relations, Vantage Point has emerged as a relevant voice for the sector in recent years. Our training and capacity-building support covers areas of governance, leadership, human resources, strategic planning, team cohesion and other key topics that support non-profits to achieve greater impact.
Volunteer Opportunities
Anyone who would like to pass on their expertise and who has an interest in the non-profit sector can connect with us to become a Knowledge Philanthropist!
Vantage Point may also be able to accommodate individuals who are completing community service; for example: interns, and career and personal planning students.
Our primary two Knowledge Philanthropy roles are Facilitators and Digital Hosts. However, we have a multitude of other ways to get involved in our work, in areas such as content development, advisory positions, event hosting, and more.
Volunteer Role: Facilitators
Our Facilitators are typically professionals in their fields who voluntarily and generously share their knowledge and expertise with Vantage Point clients as trainers and/or consultants.
We provide the training content, you provide the facilitation and examples or tips from your own experience.
Volunteer Role: Digital Hosts
As a member of the Vantage Point team, Digital Host volunteers offer tech support to our facilitators during virtual workshops and labs that build capacity in the non-profit sector.
