Kate (she/her/hers) leads research, data, and knowledge-sharing activities to support policy and advocacy work on behalf of BC non-profits. Kate has volunteered, worked, and played softball(!) within BC’s non-profit sector for 15+ years. Before joining Vantage Point in 2026, she undertook multi-year community-based research projects to advance gender justice in BC, including in the areas of housing and homelessness, economic security, access to healthcare, and gender-based violence. Her previous research work has included projects on digital equity, access to justice, urban development, and public policy debate. She holds a PhD from the University of British Columbia.
Kate has British and Irish ancestry. She lives as an uninvited guest on unceded xʷməθkʷəy̓əm, Sḵwx̱wú7mesh, and səlilwətaɬ homelands, where she is grateful to spend time in the mountains, on rivers, in the garden, and in community. Ask Kate about growing tomatoes, unorthodox pestos, or her pop choir repertoire. Better yet, reach out to tell Kate about the inspiring community-building work undertaken by non-profits across BC!
